Currently in the process of getting a fibre connection. A 6 month journey .... so far. . Now in the build process. Anyone have an overview of who does what during this? And ... how to get next step details? [what/when]

Had one Chorus 'team' blow fibre from the road, most of the way down the drive to a new green box. They then laid conduit to the boundary [but no fibre]. They said another Chorus 'team' does that.
Then another Chorus 'team' turn up, but they said they couldn't do anything [sigh] cause another Chorus 'team' needed to do do their bit first - (getting fibre from the new green box down the drive to the house.)

Currently nothing happenning - stalemate - can't get any [useful] info via Spark. So .... anyone know how to get an update or where things are at/when next step from whomever is co-ordinating all this?

Patience.

Sometimes your ISP can get an estimated build completion date from Chorus, other times Chorus will just sat "it's in build". Nothing you do can hurry it up, just know that it will be done. Sit back and relax, you will get fibre soon enough.

might have been better posting in the spark forum where the spark reps could see this and possibly act on it/get your more info

there are different teams that do different things and sounds like they haven't been talking to one another

I had one guy do the whole lot for my install, as his offsider was away on my install day.

I'd done a great deal of the work myself, so it was feasible for him to get it all done in a few hours.

Yep I had different teams do different jobs as well. To be fair they seemed to have the process pretty well sorted and it was coordinated reasonably well. But it isn't quick by any stretch of the imagination

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Have now had a clear update outlining the next few steps.

Will also add that throughout this sometimes long sometimes frustrating process - we kept running into very friendly and helpful people. (This helps the patience )
