I've muttered my views a few times on these forums, nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks Spark really has turned over a new leaf from the old Telecom days. I used to be a very harsh critic of Telecom, and genuinely considered them to be an evil institution. These days I'm happy to recommend Spark as an ISP to people when it suits their situation.

All too often we only berate companies for cocking it up, so I felt I should offer Spark a well done for ditching the old institutional evil ways, and becoming a responsive customer focused company.

I absolutely endorse that. Telecom's greedy and monopolistic behaviour actually held things back here. Spark is like a breath of fresh air. A whole different company with a whole new culture.

Spark has come a long way however it has a long way to go when dealing with them in enterprise.

Foot note ; Spark is a cool name.

I'd say my experience is about 40/60 in favour of Spark. They are still in a lot of my experience, the same old organization with a new name. There are some things which are better, I think they are trying hard to change, but I think it will be a while longer before the bad old culture is gone.

Not me personally, but I work in IT infrastructure and my colleagues on the network side deal with them pretty extensively. Yeah they do grumble a bit about things, but we're talking inefficiency and stupidity rather than entrenched evil :-)
