We just switched to Spark's new Unplan Fibre 200 service and I was wondering what others thought of it. I myself usually use 300-400GB each month so we would of course be at the $120 price tier. How does it compare to Spark's naked broadband plans?

Hi, what aspect are you after, other than the $ and the cap (or no cap) all the service delivered for residential fibre (and xDSL) is the same wrt to other performance and parameters.

With their new offer for free Netflix for life on HD standard plan, do they give you a discount on the 4K plan for life if you are subscribed to that plan already?

For 4K, you get charged additional $3 (to your Spark account)

When I had it Spark put a credit on my Netflix account to cover the period for the HD plan.
If went for a higher plan more credit would be taken off each month, which would mean that it just wouldn’t last the full term of the free period, you either suspend Netflix account or pay Netflix direct for rest of term.

Has that changed?

Edit Found it: yep paid through Spark, $3.50 more a month.

There is no difference in the plan connection wise.

Entertainment gives you those sorts of entitlements.

Unplan otherwise is just billing changes, Use less. Pay less. Use more, pay more (up to the max limit) It's the flexibility you opt in for

Yes. our new entertainment option is bundled directly into your plan.

it's no longer a voucher but a billing option.

You pay 3-4$ extra ontop of the Entertainment for the 4K plan, otherwise Entertainment gives you the HD version of NF at no extra charge.

The billing is directly linked, so for the life of your plan at spark, You have netflix. If you upgrade your plan it's billed via the spark plan.

@ NPCtom

Thank you for that heads up. Just got off the phone with spark and have changed our broadband plan:

FROM

'Fibre100 Broadband & Landline - Unlimited GB' plus Lightbox = $104.98/mth
plus Netflix separate payment to Netflix = $14.99/mth

Total per month = $119.97

TO

Fibre100 Unplan Entertainment Plan & Landline including Netflix & Lightbox

Total per month (depending upon data usage)
= $108 (max/mth)
= $88 (min/mth)

SAVINGS

= $11.97
= $ 31.97

With our Netflix account they will send us a code within the next 24 hours and we go into our Netflix account and plug that code in and our billing will get changed over to Spark and my Netflix CC bill will be suspended - CC details kept on file for re-activation at a later date if needed.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Bingo, that's exactly how it works. Nice to see it all broken down into costs though!

Your change of plan should be near instant (probably 5-10 mins to flow through) then you just hit the Activate button in myspark and login to your netflix account. It's real easy!

The recent price reduction of the 100Mbps Unplan has me strongly considering dropping from 200, and saving $22 a month

I would pay the extra $22 for double speed.

Personally I would pay the extra for 100/100 or even 100/50, I can see little use for my usage in more download, but upload would be great, and yes I am aware of the BP expert plan

i would say support that 100/100 plan in that case, If it works out well in the market you can be sure others will start picking up different plans like that!
