Niscoupe: Password has been changed and we're certainly not going to do that weekly. According to the news this morning they have had more problems. Why is it that xtra/yahoo seem to be the only provider having these problems??

I would say even changing your password once a month like they suggest is OTT. Banks don't even require that.
They haven't disclosed the reason for the problems, but I read on the Herald that other users have had their accounts hacked, but apparently those are accounts that hadn't previously changed their passwords.

How does changing your password every month even help? Does it take more than a month to compromise an account? I thought they were exploited fairly soon after gaining access.

Only a small subset customers who hadn't changed their passwords were locked out, not ones who had already changed their passwords.  As they were the ones Yahoo indiciated to us were compromised.
