funnyfela: Has anybody been shifted off BEFORE the end of the billing cycle?
Our billing cycle is till 18 August, and discovered this morning we are back on Adventure (20gb),
I was on the understanding we would be on Big Time until 18 August, and when our billing cycle happened we would be back to 20gb...

I'm annoyed as was downloading alot of game patches/maps etc and thought I had a few more days

looks like its the telecom way of saying we kicked you , but we not even going to tell u when you be shifted, they cant even send a measly email this is your shift over day , august 13 to October 8th is pathetic notice ...hidden agenda use up your 20gb in 2 days so u have to pay for more or dialup speeds for a month , woots for telecom and customer service

I just realised that i use Vidzone (PS3 app) quite a lot over the weekends and did not care for how much bandwidth it consumed while on BigTime - really going to miss taking this for granted!

this is a slap in the face!

That was the best thing about big time: not having to worry if a large download was corrupt, or how much that Youtube binge was costing you...

you were able to use that on bigtime?  I found it unwatchably slow.  when I switched to Adventure the speeds shot up.

Wow actioning plan changes on a vague schedule (sometime after mid August) mid billing period without notifying people individually just before and after the change.

Not very impressive customer service.

A question about billing, being that you pay a month in advance when you sign up to telecom, if I change ISPs with one months owing on my Telecom account, that means I'm paid up right?

Telecom operate a pro rata billing system, and bill one month in advance. If you change plans or cancel a connection, the days billed in advance and not used will be credited on your next statement

Just reading the posts from the last couple of days and I can't see what the problem is here.

Telecom gave everyone plenty of notice that bigtime was finished and stated everywhere that if you didn't move BY the 15th August they would move you after that date ?

They didn't say anywhere you had till Oct to move and would leave you on bigtime until then..

They also said if you moved to PRO before that date you got $20 a month back for 3 months.

Yet everyone still complains when they get moved and some missed out on the $20 ?

I don't agree about bigtime stopping either but it has and like I said all telecom are doing is what they said they would do !

I think the problem that someone of are having is that Telecom changed our plan before the month of BigTime that we were charged for is up, i know myself and some others were disconnected on Monday even though we hadn't finished our billing period.

Another thing i have noticed since having my plans switched is that my Pings have sky rocketed, right now i am experiencing 300-400ms pings, i havn't had that happen for a long time.

I switched off bigtime at the start of august and noticed the speed jump straight away, especially at night time.
Pings are still normal here, 25ms from tauranga, 83 ms from sydney on a speedtest.
They might have switched you to an overloaded point. Did your Ip address change after the switch and they may have turned interleaving on?
I noticed when I switched off bigtime I had to request it turned off again.

Correct - what was not stated, and I guess assumed by everyone is that with the letter saying if you don't move before Aug 13 you will be moved off my 13 October - that you would be moved on your regular billing cycle, and not at whatever random date telecom decided to do it.

I agree with this.

I expected to be moved at the end of my first billing period which overlaps with the 13th.

Yes, but imagine the logistics of moving everyone over one at a time on their billing date.
Easier for telecom to pick a date and move anyone that was left on bigtime to explorer in one big hit so it wasn't really a random move.. It was well a planned move which they informed everyone of..
If you haven't moved by august 13th we will move you they said.
