metalla: Ill need to check my wiring, and will probably do so in the weekend, but i'm fairly certain there is one already (assuming, master filter == splitter).
There is an alarm in the house, and there is a phone jack labelled ADSL, so im picking there is a splitter installed.

that suggests there is one, however the fact that you could get broadband working (albeit at lower speeds) on a different jackpoint is very odd, as I believe that with a master filter only that one labelled jack point should work for getting DSL, all the others won't.

If it's the Linksys router I'm thinking of it has a bug in the firmware that causes low sync with Chorus Wholesale connections. Try updating the firmware / testing with another router.
