rynevsn:

FYI you can now bump this to the Unlimited 300 plan for free, following on from Chorus's speed bumps across the network. Probably depends if your network is run by Chorus, and available on your Skinny settings page

But it's free, while it's $0 why would you go for anything less than gigabit and just downgrade to 300/100 when there's money involved in 6 months.

That's a very good point, not sure why I didn't do that from the start!

Has anyone's dashboard changed from the image below since being connected?

Nope. I also have same message on my dashboard. I still have the 320/320 max speed issue. Trying to get meaningful help for skinny to log a job with  Tuatahi to re do the provisioning has been a struggle so far as well.

I had to chat with them every day for 4-5 days in a row before someone finally got my issue sorted.

It's tough. Good phone support comes down to luck with the person you get on the other side. I got the best answers from live chat. Technical support via email is okay if they reply, but that can take anywhere from 2 hours to 10 days. Just keep spamming live chat with a 'log a fault with Tuatahi' message. I called and live chatted with them almost every day for two weeks.

I finally got them to offer me some sort of financial compensation, but won't know what that is until month 7. Saved every email and live chat transcript that discussed compensation.

Yup, mine shows my plan details, balance etc

It only changed once I got a message from them saying I had been connected though. That only came through once my skinny router arrived, which was a full week AFTER I had actually been connected to their network.

Yes I had that for about a week after I was transferred from Voyager, with an active connection. The Skinny dashboard is pretty minimal though you're not missing much, it should come right soon if you've just been setup with Skinny. There's no data use logged though, like other providers.

Skinny definition: lacking usual or desirable bulk, quantity, qualities, or significance

Example A: modem box cannot fit into return bag 😄

@Linux Yeah makes sense. I'll recycle the box. Was a good lil chuckle though.

When I cancelled stuff they sent me a letter requesting my orcon router back. Was very tempted to try my luck and actually send them the old orcon router that they didn't want back when I moved to stuff and see if they noticed so o could keep the Asus one as a backup.

Helped a friend sign up for Skinny Broadband this afternoon.

Got as far a submitting Credit card details and then lost the online phone connection.

No feedback text or email has been received.

Does it take time for a credit check before Skinny will complete the signup?

You should have received an automated email straight away confirming your connection denials that you submitted online. Check your junk folder else it sounds like it did not get submitted.

Thanks.

I will get my friend around to my place tomorrow to sign up using a computer rather than using a phone.

Not a lot of time left to get the half price deal.
