Or alternatively I could run the course myself, I could call it "Call 123 before you dig" Betsy the cow could be my mascott, and telecom could pay me to be cotracted out to talk to farmers about it, HOLD ON, I know what telecom pay MFR to be contracted out per job, I'd be working till 2070 just to pay this months DSL :-)

Thanks for the offer Dis, I don't really need a new MMC card, I think I was going thru thechology withdrawl simpdoms!

Yeah, He reminds me of a joke we used to make at my last job in Radio about a Cafe called Sandwich EXTREME!... Where the sandwiches are... EXTREME, like he thinks he's extreme, but alas, the world knows he is just a corp. frontperson lol.

Slightly off topic, but more on topic than my attempts to get free stuff out of Telecom and mascotts, I had a look around, and can find a little info here (Will do a bigger search shortly, in fact as soon as I finish posting this!)

But does anyone have any exprience with Bluetooth headsets on Land line phones, I have bluetooth in my Cell, bluetooth Mouse, Kbd (The logitech DiNovo set up)and was thinking if I got a bluetooth headset and a landline addaptor the whole lot could page each other, IE answer mobile calls, Landline calls, listen to PC audio all via the 1 technology.

Anyone had a play with this?

So, if I turn up at my local cellphone shop with my 6255 tomorrow, they will know all about the problem and welcome me with open arms, take my 6255 to send away, set me up a loan phone for free, and send me on the way? Is that what others have experienced?

might be worth starting a new thread, and attracting the attention of non-6255 owners who frequent geekzone. - it's probably the gsm users who'd know more about BT headsets.

This is OT, should be another thread, but here it goes... I use the GN Netcom 6110, which is great. GN launched a new version that looks like the Jabra, the GN Netcom 6210. These units can pair with the base-station and an extra headset/handsfree compatible mobile phone or audio device.

Sorry freitasm, back on topic, But thanks for the heads up!

Radionut, Yeah, Dis posted a Release the went to all the dealers that I know on the 13th, the basic fix is in rollout, basicly what will happen is the phone will get shipped to MFR, they will flash the firmware, and send it back, in the meantime you should get a (Dodgy old brick) loan phone, Also my advice is back up your phone anyway you can, Contacts can usually be synapsed but back up your ringtones and wallpapers and anthing else you have personalised, don't send your card away with the phone, or the Charger, MFR have a knack of misplacing those types of things.

Radionut,

Yes, that is what I have experienced. Fault readily acknowledged, and loan phone provided, and the phone sent away for repair free of charge.

All that has been fixed in the new software is the power down issue, no other items have been addressed. The reason was due to the power down issue being the biggest problem and customer impacting so that was the main focus of getting the new software ASAP

So you're saying that there are other issues that may need to phone to be returned at a later date for another upgrade.

dropped mine off at Telecom this morning - I've also had the issue where bluetooth has died (it shows as being on in the menu, but functionality is disabled).

The dealer knew nothing about the bluetooth issue - hopefully the fix addresses this

Most of the other issues are opinions...
eg. "wouldn't it be better if......"

i think it would be better if fast forward didn't crash the phone - but power-off is a problem of a completely different magnitude.
