Ok,latest episode for the Skinny Broadband saga. My Partner, replied to Skinnys last email on behalf of her Mum. She is in her 70s and Conversing about a fibre connection is not something she is particularly keen on being involved with hence her daughter(my partner) now replying to Skinnys last email re: rescheduling the install to yet another new date. Her email basically said that she wanted the install to be done on the next day,and if not possible to cancel the Fibre Connection. She just got a reply. The reply basically said "so you want to cancel the fibre broadband connection because you already have a fibre broadband connection". She basically thought,What the hell? and started thinking about banging her head against a concrete wall. Is there anyone in Skinny on the forums that could help please as its getting ridiculous. You could perhaps PM me? Much appreciated.

Have you tried talking to Skinny via live chat instead? Out of the three options (other two being phone and email), live chat was the most fruitful in terms of sorting out my connection issues. I don't trust their email system. Sometimes you get a reply, sometimes you don't.

I understand the big telcos have either embraced limited email ticketing or no email ticketing (eg. Direct to agent mail box)

Voice or chat is the only way to get a timely response from them these days. Seems counterintuitive but not entirely unexpected.

I am just wondering why Chorus needs to make house calls once fibre is provisioned? Shouldn’t this be a circuit switch on their back end at most?

Chorus shouldn’t under normal circumstances. They do however need to verify fibre is working after an install.

For an intact, a chorus tech showing up should be considered an outlier.

Considering this deal has expired and has gone way off topic I’m locking this. If you need support please contact Skinny direct, or if you need help from the community then open a thread in the Spark subforum.
