BaaaaD: Can someone tell me does it cost me money to join XT network, I'm currently on Vodafone prepaid.

Do i just go in to a telecom store take with me my iphone 3g my vodafone sim card, they would exchange a XT network sim card, then wait for an hour or so to connect? All for Free, i would assume the would transfer the credit  on my vodafoe pre-paid account over?

What are you smoking?

How could Telecom transfer credit from Vodafone ..... ?

"Hi its Telecom, your competitor. We are taking your customer. Please send us the money they have paid you."

You will probably have to pay for a SIM as well.

The data plans are very disappointing - I thought they may have undercut VF on those.

Roll on 2D for some real competition ...

I really hope they have $10 text. I can't get normal vodafone reception where I am (North East Valley in Dunedin), so Telecom is my only option.

You go to a Telecom store and ask to "PORT" your number. You will have to sign a new contract with them. Remember if you have a contract with Vodafone you might have to pay to get out of it.

Porting takes a couple of days.

Do not cancel your account, everything is taken care off for you.

You can't transfer any credit from Vodafone to Telecom.

I hope that like most other countries you are able to purchase another bundle of text/data if you run out during the month...

They have $12 TXT, which is 20% more SMS for 20% more $. So what's the problem?

maybe he's referring to the boostTXT deal? 2000 texts for $10 - now you've got to spend almost twice that to get less (if you dont text vodafone).

Good point... I like those sorts of options, I don't want to lock into too much data before I know what my usage is going to be like, but also don't want a huge first month bill. Although, you can also keep a close eye on your usage really easily, including minutes/texts as well as data.

I can't believe the 1GB plan is still the same cost as it was when I bought our aircard 580's! Must be at least 3-4 years ago.
