nzapster: I recently received an invite and I am seriously thinking about joining up now.
Does BigPipe offer a master splitter installation? How much of a difference will it probably make to speeds? Currently I am getting around 16mbps on ADSL2+ with slingshot

Hi,
No we don't include master filter install, sorry. (can't afford to do that because we have such a sharp price as well as no long contract)
It's hard to say how much difference it will make.
Because Bigpipe is naked broadband, a lot of the things that normally cause interference don't affect us (landline phones, monitored alarms, skybox etc etc)
Having said that, you will probably get an improvement with the filter.
Best bet we have found is to give it a try without, and see how you find the speeds.
If you decide you need a filter, there are some great technicians around who can sort it out for you.
coffeebaron, for example, (on geekzone) looks after Auckland and the Waikato so if you are from there, and does a stirling job.

Would a master filter improve ADSL speeds if the only thing plugged into a phone jack is the router?

probably.
sorry can't be more certain that that.
It really depends on the state of your home wiring. Some NZ houses (older ones mostly, but not always) have absolutely shocking home wiring, and you can double or triple your speed with a properly installed filter.
Other houses, the wiring is pretty decent anyway, and the impact of a filter might not even be noticed.
Jezza: Well, not too pleased. They were true to their word of setting up the connection today but never received a username or password to actually use it.
Posted a ticket to their site. Hope it gets sorted quick.

Jezza: Thanks for the reply, but what do you mean with modem settings? Where do you enter those values?

Jezza: Got the email thanks. Landed in the spam box.your manual should tell you how to get into the settings, and there should be areas for each of the things as part of the setup process for it
Router is a Dynalink RTA1320 ADSL2
