DravidDavid: Not sure if this has been posted already...

But it looks like worldnet.co.nz has an identacle plan to BigTime.

http://www.worldnet.co.nz/personal/dsl/?menu=price#dslplan

Not sure what kind of track record it has...But if Telecom can't do it, how the hell is this company going to provide a decent connection speed and remain "unlimited".

I think it has been pointed out already somewhere in this thread that this is just Big Time repackaged and sold by Worldnet. Once Big Time dies, this should follow suit.

Woooh...

So Worldnet are tapping in to the BigTime network and just re-selling what is BigTime to us now?  They don't actually have their own unlimited plan?

I thought it looked fishy, since the disclaimers and stuff were almost if not identicle to Telecom's disclaimer on BigTime.  Thing is...its has been advertised fairly recently and I havn't heard of it up until now.

Why would Telecom (a monopoly), allow another re-seller to 'out plan' them? It doesn't make sense. Either you force the others to follow your lead or don't offer them a package to re-sell that beats your best plan....

Is that true or just something you "reckon" because I have been looking for ages and have not really found anything that is better than Telecom as far as CAP/Price goes.
The closest I found was Orcon without a telephone and that was only cheaper thant Telecom because i wouldn't be paying for a phone service and they were offering bonus GBs but was still about $80 for a comparable limit and speed.

I would love some examples of plans you have found that beat Telecom as I will be looking to move at some point.

http://www.slingshot.co.nz/BroadbandPlans.aspx

Slingshots naked dsl is my pick at the moment $80 for 25GB (no extra line charges!), free off peak  (2am-8am, set up a schedule with uTorrent :) ), all at full speed up/down, free VOIP (500 free minutes per month then really good rates), free unlimited dial-up, data banking.

Xnet also have great plans (comparably) that beat the pants of Telecom offerings at the moment.

I would expect new Telecom plans are in the pipe-line... surely

I would love to stay with Telecom but they just don't cater for anybody that actually does things other than check emails and go on facebook/trade me.

OT a bit here. Where has the Xtra Network Status Page been moved?? I can't locate it anywhere and we had an outtage on the shore for about a half an hour today. I'd like to see if they even list the outtage or not...
