loceff13: That moredata page is from when they upgraded Total Home from 40GB to 60GB free. It's atleast six months old.

no. it isn't.

Total Home Broadband went from 40GB to 60GB 6 months ago.  now it is going from 60GB to 120GB.

Link above the graphic on this page - hardly what I'd call prominent for what I'd regard as "a big deal (tm)":

Actual page linked to:

You are correct sorry, I visited the same page less than a week ago which had the old data on the same table.. Pretty sick anyway, most heavy users will no longer need to take advantage of their billing system now

Is there a minimum contact with these plans if I was to switch? With my current ISP, I am paying $90 for 40GB of data, and another $50 odd of my phone connection, and they haven't improved their plans for ages. I don't like contacts, unless I am getting something like a free modem or tivo or something. Telecoms new plan is very tempting.

EDIT: Just checked, you have to pay $99 connection fee, that sort of sucks.

And if they do, thats 240GB per month for $105, but can't see the need for that much data...

There is a 12 month contract option, or a no term contract option. The no term contract option quotes that you need to pay a $99 connection fee for broadband, not sure if this still applies if you already have broadband with another provider though?

"A 12 month or No-term contract applies.  If you select the no-term contract option you’ll need to pay a $99 broadband connection fee and provide your own modem.  If you sign up on a 12 month contract and cancel your package before the term is up, a $199 early termination fee applies. "

Thanks, I may have to check with them about that fee. I am not sure if that would be a 'churn'fee if I am with another ISP . If I can get a free tivo out of them for a 12 month contact, then I wouldn't be so bothered about it.

free TiVo aside,  you are basically trading off a certain $99 fee now, for a possible $199 fee in the future if you leave within 12 months.

Very happy to get 120gb a month!
Just can't believe I only found out about it from reading on here, thought they would advertise this everywhere ?

Colour me surprised.

It's only been 6 months since the last cap increase, usually it takes Telecom a few years to make a change!

The tivo is worth $199, so if I got that it would cover the cost of canceling within 12 month. So that would work out better than a no term plan, if I had to pay $99. So it definately would be a sweetener to get that. Comes at a good time, as I was looking around for a new ISP after my last ISP bill for nearly $100 for less than 50GB, without a phone conenction. I was looking at the telstra deal, but heard their support isn't good, and only 40GB. I have found telecom actually replies to email support.
