Just curious why you asked if networkn had an iPhone 4?

The iphone4 does not have the best RF performance it can be 10db difference to other handsets in the same location when compared to SGII , iphone4S and other smart phones

Don't even bother with a trial, just change. It really is that much better.

The problem I've had with Voda voice calls for some time now is the way the phone switches between GSM and 3G in low signal areas, such as our home in Auckland. I managed to get around this to some extent when I had a parallel import Nokia E71 by running it in UMTS mode, which of course meant that I had to manually turn on GSM when there was no 3G coverage.

Then I bought an iPhone and voice calls at home became a real problem again. Plus data seemed to be getting slower, probably due to all of the iPhones on the network!

The Vodafone rural 3G network is great, no complaints there at all.

I have contracts with VF and they do my business lines, 4 other mobiles and internet at my office, it's not a quick and easy fix, plus I tend to err on the side of loyal, so I won't change just because of a few lost calls, unless I can't find another way around it. A change of sim card temporarily should help me to determine how bad the problem is in comparison to another provider though.

VF have been good to me over the years, I think it's fair I give them a chance to rectify or clarify the issue.

I was just getting to the point here at home where I'd miss TXT messages from work, and for someone to try and call my cellphone was just a waste of time; no way was I going to be able to talk to the other person without it cutting off.

The battery would go flat pretty fast too, as it was always trying to grab the signal (most often unsuccessfully).

When I'd send a TXT to someone, I'd have to go to a special place in the house, and if I was lucky I'd be able to send/receive.

Just wasn't working for me at all.

I'd been with Voda over the course of eight different phones through the years, but it was time to change.

Are you using a iphone4?

You mean the iPhone 4 antenna problems?

My iPhone 4 got better coverage on the Voda 900 MHz network than my previous Nokia E71, and is great on XT. So does the iPhone 4 have a specific problem on 2100?

My wife has a 3GS and her phone was even worse than mine on Vodafone.

I hope it works out for you. A few years ago I tried to get Vodafone to sort out the reception issues where we live without success.

If someone lives in a low coverage area a carrier just can't fly in a cell site on the bottom of a helicopter and put it up over night where ever they like to Please Joe Bloggs, Coverage planning takes months , years and some coverage black holes will never get sorted cause of the terrain

I don't have any issues with Vodafone...infact i had my iPad 2 on xt and my Iphone 4S on vodafone and the Iphone blasts the Ipad to bits.

Although the Vodafone reception is more susceptible to geographical anomalies i am very happy with it .I guess what i am happier about is the service i get from them and ease of accessing my data/txt/call usage straight off the phone.

i tested the XT network for telecom when it was first released and i know whats its capable of..however i believe vodafone is probably more innovative and consumer friendly.

Vodafone gets big ups from me

P.s I'm Christchurch CBD so if anyone should have complaints about vodafone it would be me

If you want Vodafone coverage that bad and Sure Signal does not suit you then Yes,

You can't fix something that is not broken, If it was broken it could be fixed.

Its like cases of customers having OK coverage and then the neighbour goes and builds a garage or puts another level on their house which impacts the coverage for the customer that had OK coverage next door, Who do you get to fix the coverage issue then?

I've been with Vodafone for years. I thought Vodafone was OK, but when I finally changed to XT was shocked at how much better their network is. That's all I'm trying to say, and I didn't even post this in the Vodafone forum!
