I've been asking them and telstraclear for years for API access...but I believe they don't want to, as the current model requires some complexity to automate it, and they like this (stops otoo many automated requests). Well thats the explanation I was given.
"It's very complicated" is probably the best answer I can give on the Telecom side too. But who knows what the future may bring ;).
gregmcc: there is a neat little program called traffic usage checker, it supports all the major NZ ISP's and it runs in the taskbar showing your usage as a percentage.
