RunningMan: This looks like the second internet issue you've noted in the last couple of days.
In this thread, plambrechtsen at Telecom asked you to send through details so he could arrange a comprehensive line test? Have you done this?

I haven't seen any emails yet.... A little child waits...
Natha: Also, I don't think a master filter is necessary considering the modem the only connected line in the entire house. Also, it's running the latest firmware, 100% sure.
Natha: Also did this with 2 other dlink modems previously. Telecom didn't give me any advice besides run a line test over the period of 24 hours. They said everything is fine.

It makes A LOT OF DIFFERENCE. If you provide the information requested (attenuation, noise, etc) instead of trying to second guess our requests then things might get easier to diagnose.Natha: Also did this with 2 other dlink modems previously. If this happened to more than one modem then it's not a problem with the NETGEAR. But it could still be a problem with your house.
So, again, please post the information requested.

Also please don't accuse me of second guessing. I have a right to be a little annoyed since this has been happening for as long as I can remember. Technicians see nothing wrong. I doubt it's something wrong with my house, I'm on the thomson right now. All I know, if I went and turned the netgear on right now, It'll do the same thing it's been doing all day.

Gooseybhai: Hi, I have the same model netgear router and suffered the same as you not so long ago.
Im connected to Vodafone.
Anyway I found that I had to change the encapsulation to somthing other than PPPOA, save, reboot.
Then log back in and change it back to PPPOA, Save, reboot.
Then save the configuration file. Save, Reboot
Then reload the configuration file, save, Reboot.
Screwy firmware I suspect and yeh im running the latest.
Problem has dissapeared....but it took me ages to figure it out and it was by chance as the encapsulation was showing as PPPOA all the time.
AS other have said... what did netgear say etc.

Gooseybhai: Since I made the change its worked fine ever since.Thank you :)
Just watch it when you want to play with the settings and again as it could default back for whatever reason.
Hope you saved the config file for future use?
Edit: Great news and see your netgear doctor is problems persist.
Dairyxox: I had the same problem with the same modem. Tried the latest firmware & it didn't help.
About a month ago. The firm I was working for got another N300 (same modem) and the 2nd one worked fine.
Interestingly the 2nd modem was a different hardware revision (v3?) and the ports were arranged differently...so maybe there is an issue with earlier revisions
