TheDistantOne: I think you may be getting confused between the 500GB draw and the 1GB data giveaway which are two seperate promotions

he is trying to help so email him your details as Peter is very good at sorting things out

I could but after having dealt with alot of different staff at telecom my inital post was to see if anyone else had this experience and wether, since no one at telecom can seem to find the correct terms and conditions, if it was time to escalate the matter futher.

Cause this just really isnt about me getting my extra gig, I am sure there are probably other customers who have had a similar experience who probably would have got the same surprise I did.

I suggest for your first post on Geekzone you do some research first.... I am not a person in Retail, but a Developer who has posted on Geekzone for 7+ years.

If I say I can find someone to help.  Then I mean it.

ok well if you don't want help then you should read the FUG (forum usage guide) as it is soap boxing and wasting everyone's time that is obviously trying to help.

plambrechtsen: Happy to help if you email me, but so far you haven't.  I don't know the exact story but would point you onto someone who could find out.

no I havent considering your at least the 6th person I've dealt with and you are giving me the same answers as everyone else, in fact only one person (in store) has actaully acknowledged that the online terms and conditions are mis leading.

if you would like to source for me the correct terms and conditions by all means do so but at the moment I'm sick of going round in circles with staff who are referring to terms and conditions that are not publicly avaliable.

If you're going to have that sort of attitude you're clearly not wanting to actually be helped by people who can actually help.

I wouldn't bother Michael... I've already asked him 3 times to email me and he doesn't seem to want our help.

now openly mocking me??? thats even a new low for telecom.

as I have already said you (like the others who I have spent hours talking to) have shown that you must be referring to terms and conditions that arent publicly avaliable, but rather than sending me those or saying "hey yip we have got it wrong" you probably will jsut give me the free gig to stop complaining?

I dont think you guys really understand the seriouness of having mis leading terms and conditions do you?

Soap Boxing is also against the FUG - which you're doing now. It's not misleading at all, in fact it's perfectly clear.. But since you're not wanting to provide any proof then you simply don't have a case in the Geekzone court.

yip understand that but what you seem to fail to understand is that I've dealt with many people who have said "hey I can help you" and then been referred to some hidden terms and condition so excuse my rejection of your offer to help as another branch to this lengthy problem.

You would be the third person who has asked me to email them with my issue and question and not actaully been able to provide any form of help.

I wasnt actaully soap boxing but to have another 2 staff memebers not actaully answer my questions and once again refer to terms and condtions that arent publicly avaliable kinda starts to grind my gears.

So once again I pose my question.

Where are the different terms and conditions for the different retail channels? and could someone publicly show me where it states I need to be a new customer.

once you can answer those questions I will email you my details

I don’t really want to have to complain to the commerce commission but it was a pretty big reason that I purchased the phone

What was that big reason for purchasing the phone?
From you first post it sounds like it is about the extra gig.

Now people from Telecom are tying to help and you don't want their help.

So is it about the gig or not?

ok if it is clear can you show me where in the terms and conditions it states I need to be a new customer to recieved the free 1GB of data?

If you had done that in the first place I would of been gracious in defeat.

I think the Op has a pertinent query but the attitude needs to be adjusted so the focus can go on the topic not the poster.

the inital query was about the gig yes.

But its also about the principle of misleading advertising and lack of ownership here.

All along on here and through other channels I have asked to be referred to terms and conditions that state that you have to be a new customer. Dont get me wrong I'm a loyal telecom customer but when someone refers to terms and conditions that I can not see then that is a wider issue.

sorry if it seems that I'm putting my views of telecom as a whole onto the original reply but you dont understand his reply has been the same as the other 6 people I have dealt with.

They all refer to channel specific terms and condition but when questioned about where they are publicly advertised no one can give me a straight answer, and the advertising clearly states for me to look online at the terms and conditions I originally posted

the website says right on that front page that you need to purchase the SGS4 online to get the 1GB free, but you said you purchased it in store.

I have just read the online terms and conditions of this offer. I think I am going to side with the OP in this case.

I cannot see anywhere in the terms where it says the offer is for new customers or available online only

To the OP: the link you posted in the topic openener clearly says you have to buy the Samsung S4 online. There is your answer right there and you know it.

Peter offered to help more than once but you refused. It seems to me you bought this in store then realised things weren't going your way and decided to make it a soapbox. We do not allow soapbox here.
