Jase2985: it must be the placebo effect, as the 150gb plan doesnt come under the traffic shaping T&C's

im maxing out my VDSL connection on torrents at the moment 6.5MB/s on telecoms 500GB plan

Yup. I'm on a 80GB plan and I'm maxing out at ~1MB/s which is good for my mbps. Normal broadband plans with usage caps are not affected.

My ADSL speed.

I was actually about to ask if they were going to throttle torrent speeds and certain http such as rapidshare etc during of peak hours.
Because if memory serves me right the last time they offered an unlimited plan at 60NZD a month it was throttled a ton and torrents were throttled regardless of peak hours or not.

I don't mind it being slower during off peak as I don't download during those hours, but if the throttle torrent speeds regardless of time then I wouldn't see the benefit of switching as I am on the 500gb plan now any ways.
