Yeah you can, they're $4 instead of $2..

Their devices are sold online and at resellers, They dont have shops like telecom and vodafone do, but you can get help online or on the phone

Ah, I didn't realise that, although I think that they were on special the other day; I'm pretty sure that I saw them in New World for $5 with $5 free credit or something (I might have the dollar value wrong but I'm pretty sure that the SIM itself was free overall). I have no idea whether that's still current or not though!

Older sims used to be $4 and come with a free $4 weekly combo, But since the monthly combos came out that no longer happens unless new world still has some old sims

Behodar: Yes, receiving SMS is always free.

But sending is 70c.  Way cheaper at 44c to call back to NZ.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Yup, if you do it online via credit/debit card

It can save your details for topping up easy next time by just using a 4 digit pin which you can also do by the *888# menu once its setup

I hear the online topup system is down at the moment though..

Yes you can set up a recurring recharge using a credit card or visa debit.  You can set up a recharge of $16 every 30 days.

By the way, last time I ported a number to Skinny, I got an email (1st email) saying the porting was done.  However, I noticed my old sim was still active.  It turned out the first email should say the porting process has started and it should take four hours.

So few hours later, I got a second email which was the same as the first one.  However, the number was successfully transferred at that point.

Also, with the skinny sim inserted to you phone, you can dial *888*8*3# to check the number attached to the sim card.
