How far are you up the queue and what did you order?
Did you request one of the less-available options maybe and thats why they want you on a contract?

I was #20 in Christchurch. Silver 64 GB iPhone 6.

I said I wanted to buy outright, and they said that there are no outright sales yet because of limited stock. Also they said they don't know when they will be able to offer outright sales yet, but will give me a call to let me know.

Nope didn't ask about those options, because she had said that they were only selling on 24 month contract. I guess that could include 24 month interest free/deferred?

Nope didn't ask about those options, because she had said that they were only selling on 24 month contract. I guess that could include 24 month interest free/deferred?

I just spoke to someone on chat who confirmed if you made it during a certain window when they were offering interest free on open term plans, they would honour it. And I confirmed mine over the phone with the store who arranged the details over the phone and just have to collect phone with ID on the day.

Id suggest you do some ringing around

We're high in the queue in Wellington, and hoped to do open term on deferred payments as we did on launch day last year.
I was considering just not turning up, but actually, Spark's early termination fees are the most reasonable of the three carriers. It's not too much more expensive to get the $49 plan on a 24 month contract and then terminate it right away. For me it's preferable to risking a long delay with 6 Plus stock being so limited.

If you don't mind me asking, where about did you find the termination fees? I tried looking for those a few weeks ago and couldn't find them
