Skinny is a completely separate system from Spark. I'm fairly sure the Spark stores won't sell Skinny sims. They are provisioned completely separately from different systems. Apart from using the same radio network. The rest of Skinny is physically and logically separate from Spark. So anyone who says they are the same (And I am looking at you sbiddle !!) are giving you incorrect information.

I'm trying to do the same thing as OP and port my Skinny number to Spark. Am I blind or is there no form on the Spark website to achieve this? I already have a Spark (old Telecom) sim that I can use.

noob q - when you port numbers from one network to another, the ads say you keep your number, does that include the prefix part ?

Yeap that's what porting is all about. Keeping your entire number.

And reading stories like this one just affirms my reasoning to stay with the one provider.

I have a few sales people trying to get me to switch to a new carrier, vaunting their cheap prices and better services.
Then I hear of these issues and think, nope, not gunna bother.

I've been with Vodafone since they were Bell South, and to be honest, I haven't had any major issues, in fact I don't remember any significant issues I have had over the years.

Yea, their phone support quality has dropped over the years, but that's what happens it seems as you get bigger these days, but I haven't had the need to use them for anything significant.

I did call up the other day to inquire what a standard phone number was, may be clear to them, but made little sense to me.
Apparently a standard phone number is a cellular and land line number within New Zealand, don't know why they didn't just say so...

They keep offering a Sky package, but we recently dropped them like the millstone they are and haven't looked back.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

There have been some issues with Porting from Skinny to Spark Prepaid, which are still actively being worked on.

But as NZBNW posted the switch networks link is the best way to do it online.
