I suggest everyone to report to Spark, and get a case logged against Yahoo Mail. The last I was told is they were going to refresh my mailbox on Yahoo end. It might take 6 to 12 hours, but nothing happened so far. I got 4 emails with no body again today.

I just hope someone from Spark can please just let us know what the issue is?

I have now moved my Trademe, Geekzone, Amazon and Youshop accounts to Gmail and I am considering to close my Xtra.co.nz email completely if this cannot be resolved by end of this week. It is very frustrating.

Here is one example of the Spark / Xtra / Yahoo email problem
Ironic as the email was sent to me by Spark.

Update

I can confirm all my emails are recovered. All the emails that had no body previously are now showing the contents and images etc. There are no emails that have missing body now for my account.

I am hoping the issue is now resolved, although there has been no promised reply from the Spark Support team.

I have also been hit by the "no body" and "gibberish" problem on my Xtra emails. Has anyone come up with a remedy?. I could try the chat line but I am disabled and am painfully slow at typing so that is not practical. I need an email address for an Xtra helpline and cant find one anywhere. (Xtra - where are you?
) Thanks.

I suggest you call the Help Desk and log a call with them. On the Chat or Email, they would prefer to call and speak to you anyway. They would need to ask you details like what date, and time the email has the issue etc.

The call will then be transferred to Yahoo Support to resolve by refreshing the mailbox. Yahoo has the ability to login to your mailbox and review the messages that has the problem.

My issue took about a week to fix, but eventually all the non-body messages were fixed too.

Hope this helps.

I think they were officially banned from making any comments on Yahoo/xtra email issues.

I've always had issues with yahoo IMAP (for the last couple of years i guess).

Initially I would try and figure out what was going on, why it was asking for my password sometimes and other times not working at all.

Eventually i just ignored the errors and my mail would update in the periods between outage periods.

Now I have just stopped using yahoo imap and use the web interface instead.

I've been weaning myself off xtra anyway, only keep it around for the odd time i might get a message from an old acquaintance.

Now I cringe when I see people using xtra email addresses.

Yeah - I am seeing this also. I'm using pure yahoo - not Xtra.
It seems to be ongoing (sporadically)
downrightnow.com has been showing spikes in reported problems for yahoo mail over the past week.

This is getting worse!  Have just had 32 emails in spam inbox and about 20 were without bodies and 5 or 6 were gibberish. I had about 1 "bodyless" email in my inbox. About 20 genuine emails were fine.  From what I can judge, most in the spam list were crap but sooner or later I will lose something I would like to look at. Where are you Xtra? I am one of your customers!

Either that or I think that there is really nothing anyone can contribute since most of the people I know connected with Spark still face-palm over Spark going with Yahoo in the first place. Going with Yahoo would be like launching a relationship with MySpace, AOL and Bebo in terms of of companies whose relevance is non-existent in 2014. Honestly, if I was a manager and knew nothing about information technology I would have thought, "lets go with Google since they're big and well known" would be the equivalent of "no one ever got fired for going with IBM" - I would love to be a fly on the wall when they decided to go with Yahoo if for no other reason than hearing the justifications to do so.
