Actually, I am not sure, and I am on holidays for the next week, so I won't know for a week!  LOL.

One can always put  0900 and international bars on the phone... And trust you are strong enough to not use it to make calls...  Or browse the internet.

Mmm not quite, yes true you can bar just text messages, but an outgoing call bar will also bar the txt service.

It is possible to bar outgoing calls only. This 'bar' still allows incoming / outgoing texts and incoming calls.

I have used that bar before, and while it allows incoming calls, it will not let you send or receive text messages.

Then you're using the wrong bar - trust me, there is one. I have neice who has phone on her mum's acct on onebill. First thing we did was put this bar on so she can only text. Still not the greatest solution as she cant ring *333 for text balance but now with texting 333 available it is not longer problem.

you guys are getting off the topic possum asked if he could get $10 txt on his palm treo. ALL mobile phone numbers on the telecom network are charged 20c for the first 50 texts then after up to 500 txts will cost a max of $10 after 500 txts the 20c kiks in again. belive me i have all four  types of a/c onebill, postpaid, prepaid , and data card  i have never paid more than $10 for up to 500 txts and i did not have to ask telecom for a txt plan.the boost plan only applies to prepaid boost a/c,s.

OA customers can get 2000TXT's to Telecom number for $10, it is called Mega TXT.

As for the OT bar, from my experience with applying the bar (myself, not via any other channel, but I will test it out once again), outgoing bars will bar txt messages.

Possum you will need an OA plan to get $10 TXT on a PDA device.
