But yeah... I see your point but might feel awkward if the same technician comes over lol.

You don't need to. He didn't do his job (the installation) properly. End of story. Not your fault.

I got VDSL and had a master filter installed, and am glad I did as the wiring here is quite old. But with the master filter all those types of issues are cleared up.
