Update:

Found the problem/issue

Went outside the house and open the 'box' where the wires were.

Its said: blue/white  pr to PHONE,   green/white pr to DSL.

Went inside the house, both phone and internet were only connected using 2 wires (the DSL line).

DIY the unused pair to the phone jack.

Sorted.

VDSL speed back to 51Mbps and phone works. And filter not required.

Happy.

Thanks everybody.

That box with the writing on it (Blue/white to Phone and Gr/WH to DSL) IS the master filter. Whoever wired it up did a real dodgy job by the sounds of it.

Yeah, I could have been living with Full speed (> 50Mpbs) the last year! (instead of 35)

Good job here. I am also based in Wellington if you're still wanting somebody to check over things, have done quite a few master filter installations in my lifetime.

Thanks Michael. How do you get 170Mbps? I want, I want.
