I'm a Spark VDSL customer and my internet speeds last night were terrible. Sites either flat out refused to load or loaded so slowly that it was pointless. Two things I noticed:

1. I fired up my VPN to the UK and browsing speeded up dramatically.
2. Sites behind SSL/TLS seemed to work OK

Is there some kind of a proxy issue with Spark going on here?

Same thing, thought it was just my router but rebooting everything and resetting doesn't help.

Slow international traffic, impossibly to load some sites. Tried to sync an offline Spotify playlist this morning, took about 2minutes per song when it would usually take only a couple of seconds. Gave up in the end. Seems to fluctuate all evening though.

Appears to be an issue with Sparks transparent proxies - HTTP traffic has been horrible as of late however if I VPN out I am totally fine.

I am currently on a Spark 30/10 connection in Christchurch and have even tried a couple of routers to ensure it wasn't that.

Same here on vdsl , seems alot of international traffic is being effected. Some stuff takes forever to load or won't load at all.

Something is going on somewhere.

Issues here in Chc on 30/10 VDSL also. Tried some downloads from some usually-fast filehosters and am getting very slow speeds (2KB/s). Browsing seems a bit hit and miss, even this wonderful site seemed to struggle to load.

Will log a fault with Spark when I wake up a bit.

My problems were fixed on the 27th, however they're back - random sites are just loading extremely slowly.

Images on Amazon.com take 5+ seconds to load, especially the zoomed in ones.

Newegg.com just generally takes a long as time to load.

I'm not sure about that, it used to load totally fine. Also, considering I have a 40mbit VDSL connection, 8mb still shouldn't take that long to load.

i have a 50/10 VDSL connection and it takes 18 seconds to load everything

pretty much each item took less than 200ms to load but take the combination of eveything it all adds up

ill test tomorrow at uni and see how long things take there
