robjg63: I switched from 2 degrees to Skinny a bit over a year ago. Just went for the $16 plan.
2 degrees coverage at home kept dropping out - it has been solid on skinny (Central Auckland).
Skinny implemented the rollover minutes and more recently the rollover data - so pretty happy about that - I am getting a very nice accumulation.
Was pleasantly surprised when they enabled the 4G network last year as well.
The only that that annoys me (there will always be something) is that stupid $0.20 charge for accessing voicemails. Why it cant just take a minute off your talk balance I just dont know. Always means you have to keep a scrappy balance for possible voicemail access.
Yes I know that with skinny you can turn off the ability for people to leave voicemails - nice feature - but as mentioned - would sooner voicemail access cost was taken off the talk minutes balance.
Totally sums up the reasons for my move from 2 Degrees to Skinny last year; no regrets thus far (other than losing the ability to check messages by calling my own number, which was possible with 2 Degrees; I've switched messages off because of this).
It's surely quite worrying (or should be) for 2 Degrees that so many people have problems with reception, to the point it is one of the key reasons for such people to move to an alternative mobile company. Especially given many of these poor reception spots appear to not exactly be rural/outskirts locations...
