robjg63: I switched from 2 degrees to Skinny a bit over a year ago. Just went for the $16 plan.
2 degrees coverage at home kept dropping out - it has been solid on skinny (Central Auckland).
Skinny implemented the rollover minutes and more recently the rollover data - so pretty happy about that - I am getting a very nice accumulation.
Was pleasantly surprised when they enabled the 4G network last year as well.

The only that that annoys me (there will always be something) is that stupid $0.20 charge for accessing voicemails. Why it cant just take a minute off your talk balance I just dont know. Always means you have to keep a scrappy balance for possible voicemail access.

Yes I know that with skinny you can turn off the ability for people to leave voicemails - nice feature - but as mentioned - would sooner voicemail access cost was taken off the talk minutes balance.

Totally sums up the reasons for my move from 2 Degrees to Skinny last year; no regrets thus far (other than losing the ability to check messages by calling my own number, which was possible with 2 Degrees; I've switched messages off because of this).

It's surely quite worrying (or should be) for 2 Degrees that so many people have problems with reception, to the point it is one of the key reasons for such people to move to an alternative mobile company. Especially given many of these poor reception spots appear to not exactly be rural/outskirts locations...

I liked 2 degrees and to support a NZ owned provider.
Just changed due to poor coverage for voice and data.  I was out of town recently looking up at hill with vodafone and telecom cell sites, no 2 degrees coverage.
I was on 2 Degrees $29 on account with so much voice and data carry over unused.  Now on $9 prepay Skinny with auto top up each month.

One thing to to note that I forgot about was that when checking the IMEI to see if my phone was compatible, the Skinny database said it wasn't but it works fine. The phone I have is a One Plus.

I moved from 2degrees to Skinny about 2 years ago, then a few months later, moved the whole family across to Skinny.
Everyone loves the $16 combo.

The only annoying bit is probably is the 20c voice mail, prefer to use the voice mail service as part of the included min.
Too many meetings >>> on vibration all the time >>> Results in too many voice mails & call backs :(

I just turned had my voicemail service turned off/disabled.  I've found that half the calls I receive on my cell phone are wrong numbers, and it is annoying to waste my time and credit dealing with messages.  If I am available and have cell service, I will answer the phone, otherwise call back later or txt.

Searching the Skinny site didn't really help, but call 789 and answer a few verification questions and they will sort  it for you.
