sounds like they need a backup route of cables for the backbone

I dont feel its fragile, stuff happens. You can't provide a service nationwide that cannot ever have a cut cable. Look at submarine cables that have been severed overseas. Rare, but it happens

Cable/Duct routes are very well documented. In the case of UFB installs they go and actually get all the services plotted out too. But all the documentation in the world doesn't stop a digger driver "who's been doing it for years" not checking and just ripping in to things.

i wonder if they ever pay a credit like $30 cos everyone I know had to use expensive 3g instead on vodafone :)


its amazing how you cant live without internet too long else you go crazy

mom was panicking.. calling me up at work.. saying how do I reset router etc

she wanted to play her android games and need FB connectivity LOL

Maybe we should resurrect the stocks for those who don't RTFM before digging up roads.
