I'll jump in on this one quickly.
- WiFi is notoriously not-as-good as ethernet. PS4 WiFi doubly so.
- If you do as other posters here have suggested and test your PS4's connection on ethernet, there's a really good chance this problem will just kind of go away.
- If it doesn't, read on:
- Bigpipe uses CG-NAT. Basically, this means that your IP address will change periodically.
- Some users, often gamers, would prefer a static IP address, for game hosting and such, so we offer this as an option for a one-off payment of $45.
- If you're still having trouble matchmaking on a wired connection, you might wish to try the static IP.
- Do try testing on ethernet first though. You should be fine.
