Sinner, Darkcyric: Could you please confirm whether Telegistics sent you a full casing for the 6275, or just a back cover?

The answer is: There are still monkeys and apes for the same reason that there are still British, even though my great grandfather was British and I am a Kiwi.

Never purchased one myself. Just work in the industry.

You need to purchased the covers individually from Telegistics/Dealer. Telegistics may offer a combined package, but I'm not aware of them doing so.

I ordered and received a Front Cover, Battery Cover, and Antenna Cover.

Having replaced them before i know how much of a mission it is and what is involved, which is why im surprised they were able to sell them. Its a far cry from replacing a front cover on say a 6235.

Thanks for your input on this.

The reason I am being anal is that I am wanting to ensure Telecom/Telegistics are delivering a consistent message to all end users. In the past, any part which requires a product's warranty to be voided in order to fit it has not been sold.

So either the rules have changed for the delivery of service agent fitted parts, or taking apart a 6275 no longer voids its warranty.

Will find this out today, as it changes messages across the whole of the retail outlets and dealers.

One last question: When you finally placed your order, was it through a Telecom outlet/dealer, or direct;y from Telegistics?

While Telegistics / Nokia are the only ones that could give you a 100% answer, in my experience, i would say that it has a very high probability of voiding the warranty.

As far as I am aware, the only products able to be purchased through Telecom-owned stores (not dealers as a whole) are those that can easily be fit and do not require any kind of dissassembly or specific tools (in the sense that screws need to be taken out or adhesives broken, that kind of thing). For parts that do require this (replacement screen, aerial which is implanted and not screwed in, etc), the phone needs to be sent to Telegistics.

Right - time for me to eat a bit of humble pie.

As it turns out, while the front cover of the Nokia 6275 is difficult to remove, no specialist tools are required, and it definitely doesn't void the warranty. This is verbatim from Telegistics parts department.

Any Telecom owned store can order the product, as should most dealers, but cannot say for sure. Cost for the battery cover is currently $39.99, and the rest of the housing is sold separately at the same price.

As this question has come up in this forum, and is likely to be asked again about other models, I am going to discuss the possibility of Telegistics supplying a list of parts which can be supplied to and fitted by the end user without voiding the warranty. I would hope to distribute this at least to Telecom owned stores, if not dealers as well. This should avoid the 'blank look' syndrome.

Apologies to anyone I put wrong with my previous post - was certain them dam cases was sealed!

Jason - do you work in the retail area of Telecom?
For majority of Telecom phones, there is generally a battery cover that can be ordered and for most Nokia and some other models there is replacement front and back covers. Aerials are available where they can be screwed in (as opposed to the fixed/internal aerials). Anything beyond that requires the phone to be sent to Telegistics.
I would still stress to people that, while Geekzone is a good place to get answers, they should follow up with actually calling/dropping by a retail store and just asking the question. More often then not, the part(s) required will be available to order. If not, they will be able to give the person an answer within 24 hours.

Would anyone happen to know how to remove said casing to put on the new one? I am stuck with not being able to get the antenna cover off. Any help would be fantastic!
