Hi Guys,

I was wondering, does anyone know where I could obtain a complete housing for a Nokia 6275i? Even a new battery cover would probably do. I recently bought one off Trade Me, it seems to work fine but it is quite scratched and would love to get a new housing for it. Any websites I could try? Does anyone have one of these housings/cases/battery covers for this phone that I could buy off them?

Also, I think the loudspeaker is a bit crackly? Is there a way to fix this...maybe put a new one in? Does anyone know where I could obtain this from? I have a Nokia 6275- do they use the same loudspeaker because I could swap them?

Thanks a lot for your help guys. I look forward to your responses...It would be great to have it looking like new!

Armando

No, I live in Hawke's Bay but am moving to Wellington...

Would they post it to me? So, can Telecom provide full new housings for the phone? How much would something like that cost?

Thanks,
Armando

Any Telecom / Orb / Leading Edge store should be able to send the phone away to Telegistics for you.  The phone would need to be sent away as Telegistics wont sell the covers (except the battery cover).

The store should be able to confirm a price for you BEFORE they send the phone away.

You can go into any Telecom-owned Retail Store and order these in. Phone will not need to be sent away, as the covers can clip on (if we are just talking about the front cover, back cover and battery cover). They will also be able to give you a cost before you order them in.
For the crackly loudspeaker, if you want this looked out, you will need to send it off to a repair agent to investigate. Doubt that you could purchase the item(s) required to fix and install yourself (unless you have the techincal know-how).
Just pointing out, but you probably could have saved yourself a lot of time by just calling an owned Retail Store and talking to the sales staff.

LOL, Well, I hate to point it out, but I did! Went to a Leading Edge and ORB and they didn't have a clue as to what I was talking about...except for one guy that said it would cost more than the phones worth!!!

My personaly opinion is that it is best to deal with Telecom-owned Retail Stores:)

While unable to be 100% sure, i doubt you would be able to buy the front cover from a Telecom store.  While it does indeed "clip on" the clips are pretty difficult to access and it would be easy to damage your phone, so i dont think Telegistics would sell them, even to a TRS (again, i could be wrong on this.. Just my opinion).

If its just a battery cover though, then that would be no problem to get hold of.

Yep, you can order them from Telegistics through TRS (or any other Telecom-dealer). Work in the industry. Most Nokias have covers that are held on by clips (as opposed to screws or adhesives that require the phone to be disassembled).

If it would cost more than your phone is worth to get the cover, then maybe your phone is stuffed?  IMHO I don't see the Nokia 6275 as having a snap on cover...  Anyway, let us know how you got on, how it was done, and how much.  From your friendly NON-TRS 'industry worker'.

The 6275i has a sealed housing and cannot be opened without the proper tools.  For this reason Telegistics will not send you a housing.  They will, however, sell and fit it for their fixed 'out of warranty repair' price - around $100.  You can order just the backplate for about $40.

Go back to your dealer ask them to book your phone in for an OOW repair to get your case fitted, pay them the fee, take the loan phone and return to collect your newly cased phone in approx 10 working days.

I would be interested to know if you receive service of a lower standard than this without reasonable explanation.  If you are not an account customer, you will be asked to pay a bond for your loaner - this doesn't constitute 'poor service'!

I believe some dealers may not have loan phones - all Telecom owned stores do.

Cheers, Jason.

Depending on what area of the country you are in, try giving the closest dealer store a call or call Telegistics (don't just go off what people are posting here). They will be able to give you confirmation and a quote. The covers can be ordered in and the store doesn't need any speacilist equipment to attach them.

Im glad i said this, cause ive just managed to be proven wrong on this case.. Never one to assume im right for the sake of being right, i contacted Telegistics, and have received confirmation that they can indeed be ordered.  I ordered some in and they actually arrived.  Sorry for doubting you Sinner Wink
