If phones are sold at subsidised prices I think it's a perfectly legitimate business model. If you're buying a handset at a full price or are out of contract then IMHO the network should provide you with unlock codes for free for the handset and this is common practice overseas.
Yeah apart from the fact Vodafone DONT sell phones as subsidised prices. They are standard RRP which can be hundreds of dollars more than other retail outlets.
In fact, you CANNOT sign up to Vodafone without going on at least a 12 month contract, which you HAVE to take a phone or extra minutes with.
Vodafone simply wouldn't allow me to sign up a new connection without taking a phone or minutes, and having over a hundred dollars of cancelletion fees. Talk about not wanting peoples business.
