When I was a 2D broadband customer, I was able to get a static IPv6 prefix along with my static ipv4 address. Unsure if they offer this on the Vocus platform.

timmmay:

If you really need IPv6 you can use 2degrees, though you may need to pay an extra $10 a month for a static IP. I'm not sure if static IPv6 is standard or comes with the static IPv4.

+1 on 2degrees. I use them and ipv6 works like a charm

Surprised that they haven't bundled up their IPv4 addresses - given how many they have - and sold them off to lease them back from a private equity company.

@boosacnoodle: Who knows. Spark is primarily a dividend stock, which drives a particular style of doing business. Their past attempts at being a growth company haven’t gone too well.

There may be regulatory, financial or other practical reasons why they haven’t considered it.

On an off topic note - it will be interesting to see what Sparks plans are once they run out of assets to sell.

Just an aside, route48.org has an endpoint in Auckland (and offers BGP) if you’re wanting a tunnelled IPv6.

Not only that, but getting a RIPE ASN & some v6 address space is dirt cheap now.  I need to get better BGP path selection working...
