sonyxperiageek: Mobile Smiles isn't even good value.

I only (ab)use it for the 6–10c discount as an alternative to the SmartFuel discount at BP/Caltex. You're right though the reward scheme itself is poor value (giving back only ~1c per litre in my calculations).

Yeah. If you have a 40 litre tank, you'd have to fill up 7.5 times of 91 in order to get just $5 to use for something.

I got the exact same message on my (work) Vodafone 021, but from 2605011. 8am yesterday morning, (woke me up!). Didn't get it to my (had for much longer) 2degrees 021 number.

Hi Guys,

Looks like on 2degrees the TXTs originated from CAPMIM rather than a phone number, which is interesting in itself. Not sure how that's done.

It would also be good to find a link between the message recipients phone numbers and some event where these were registered. Form the thread it looks like these were all to Voda numbers - 021xxx - don't know if this means the sender was just incrementing a list of numbers starting at 021 000001 or is there is a common event linking these.

All the best, Dan.

I got the message. I am on Vodafone, a 021 number. I haven't registered for any event lately or any website that I would expect a leak from - I don't usually fill the phone number in a profile.

My number is a 9-digit (i.e. 021 3xx xxx) number. Wonder if this only targeted the 9-digit numbers, missing the 10/11-digit numbers?
