Is it a problem with all contacts, or just some?

What do you get charged for - an MMS?

What about a text only iMessage - does that show on your bill as a text (even if zero rated)?

Have you tried putting in to airplane mode, then re-enabling WiFi (so no mobile connection, just wifi)

What exactly is written on your bill?  Are you sure the charge relates to this?

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Brunzy: Can anyone confirm that they get charged ( or not ) for sending pics via iMessage?
I wa under the impression that anything via iMessage was data only and not part of your text plan, Spark confirmed that and even sent a test pic from their shop, but I always get charged for them

if your message is in blue , then it used your data/internet,   if in green it means mms msg

It it's an iMessage, I'm pretty sure your telco (in this case Spark) can't even see the content as it's encrypted end-to-end. So if it's indeed an iMessage, Spark has no way of knowing whether you're sending a text, image, 200MB PDF, etc..

Obviously you'd pay for the data if you're sending a large file via iMessage on 3G/4G.

I was going to suggest that the charges may be related to the international SMSes that are sent when iMessage is activated or deactivated - noting that you have indicated that you have toggled iMessage on and off as a potential solution to the problem.

However it seems strange that the activation messages would appear on your bill as 'picture messaging' because I would have thought they would just be a text based SMS.

So, to get back to the original question,

Can anyone confirm that they get charged ( or not ) for sending pics via iMessage on their Spark account?
