Yeah same situation here, my work allows me to get Vodafone at a discount, the $59 10GB plan Red+ Lite would cost almost the same as Spark's $39 plan while having 10x more data, I tried talking to a customer rep at Spark and the best they could do for me is ask me to sign up to the Spark $59 plan with no discounts.

Only reason why I haven't switched to Vodafone yet is because I heard their customer services are terrible (outsourced to india?) and that I like the free Spotify deal from Spark.

Yes but do they provide them the same courtesy of excellent coverage in non built up areas?

its probably a different kettle of fish but I have heard of people being able to get Spark fixed mobile broadband in rural areas but not skinny customers.

I remember years ago a colleague of mine doing some doing side by side comparisons with 2degrees and vodafone mobiles in rural areas when we were considering a switch and being told by the 2degrees rep "we roam on vodafones network so coverage isn't an issue!"

Using the same mobile phones he had varying results with the Vodafone sim always outshining the 2degrees sim

Skinny mobile coverage == Spark mobile coverage. Same towers.

Wireless broadband between Spark and Skinny are indeed treated differently from an availability perspective.

Skinny is Spark, afaik Skinny uses the same core network, just you pay a quarter of the price and they answer the phone helpdesk in under a minute!

Spark does have a 10gb $59.99 plan, I was given it as a choice between that and the 4gb plan but it doesn’t include Spotify or Lightbox

Why does Spark bother with rollover data? It has a limit of 3.5GB at any time. They clearly have the capability why not just allow limitless rollover?

It's weird that doesn't appear on their web site.

Thats what I thought, when I went to trade up my iPhone X to the XS max they offered me that plan, but let me choose between them so I guess they're keeping both.

It's not a advertised plan.

Are there other plans available without Lightbox and Spotify or is it going to be advertised? I already have the former with my broadband and I use Apple Music.

I moved to Spark from Vodafone a couple of years ago and am much happier with the service I now get but as I also qualify for Kiwi Heroes I'll be looking at shifting to 2degrees once my mobile and broadband contracts are up in another 6 months.

Spark say I get Lightbox and Spotify "free" at the moment but I see the restrictiveness of my mobile plan as actually being the payment for these, and I don't watch Lightbox anyway.

Moving to 2degrees I'd get:
- truckloads more mobile data (plus I can share it without paying extra fees)
- $200 credit for 12 month signup on broadband
- $10/month off broadband for having a pay monthly mobile plan which would give me
  - $15/month savings on my current broadband plan
  - massive broadband speed upgrade

I already pay separately for Netflix as the deal I signed up to Spark with has expired. Even with paying an extra $14.99/month for Spotify I'd easily come out on the winning side of the ledger.

However, thanks for the heads up @hio77 - I'll keep an eye out. It's gonna have to be something significant to keep me though.
