jnimmo:

Turned on for my iPhone, Mobile > Mobile Data Options > Voice & Data > 4G, VoLTE On

Rebooted phone and it no longer drops back to 3G when making calls (so seems to be working)

For what it's worth, that option isn't present on my iPhone 8 with Skinny. Might be Spark-only at this stage, or maybe the option only appears once it's available in your area.

Hopefully.  I'll have to wait until tomorrow to get into a LTE area to see if I can turn it on .  Best we get at home is 3G  on a good day on both Skinny and 2d SIMs

Old3eyes

Don't seem to have that option on iOS 12.4.1 (Carrier Bundle 36.0)

boosacnoodle: Live on Spark today. Just tested it on iPhone XS running iOS 13.1 beta. Appears they are rolling it out in batches. There’s some limited info on their website about it.

@boosacnoodle Where are you located?

Christchurch. I'm not rural, so it's not a RCG thing.

I am using Spark profile 38.0.1 on iOS 13.1 beta and it's working.

Does this mean we’ll finally see the restrictions on the L700 footprint lifted? I understand not all L700 devices are VoLTE capable - but surely in an emergency it’s better to have a data connection than no connection at all?

Under Settings -> About - It appears that Skinny uses the same carrier package as Spark so I wouldn't be surprised that Skinny ends up getting VoLTE when Spark customers get it.

Will VoLTE also come to skinny?

Also I'm using a dual SIM note 9. Is that a supported handset?

that handset possibly not. All depends if its enabled in the software.

Found this setting after updating to iOS 13 this morning, the option is off by default so everyone will have to go looking for this setting if they want to use it.

2degrees also has the same setting but there is a warning saying the network has not been certified by the carrier for Vo4G on iphone

Same situation with Spark/Skinny - I guess we'll have to wait until iOS 13.1 is released next week on 25/09 to see whether it is switched on by default.
