Bigpipe seems to be having the best deals. works out $59.25 a month on a 12 month term. Free modem&postage and connection! My internet requirement is basic.

Is the modem for me to keep? Its not clear if its a rental.

How soon can the connection be made? Can the modem be sent to a different address?

You keep the modem as part of the contract.

How soon will depend on Chorus unless there is already a live ONT? If no ONT yet, then it could take longer.

Been with them for years, their service just works.

Not going to move anytime soon

I didn't have a single noticeable outage on my Bigipe VDSL or Gigabit UFB services from June 2018 - March 2020, excluding the usual ONT update reboots, scheduled maintenance, etc.

I think some people's poor experiences come from email/live chat being their ONLY support medium, which for the few times I did have to get in contact, meant a delay of about 1 business day for a reply.

It's unfortunate how they've gone from being an ISP that caters for 'geeks' to just another Spark-offshoot over the last year or two. Prior to them switching over to use Spark's core network, they did all sorts of cool opt-in experiments like IPv6, IPoE, VLAN tagging on request, even oddball speed profiles offered by Chorus but not officially listed on Bigpipe's website like 200 down / 200 up.

Peering policies are also dictated by Spark so expect sub-optimal routing via Australia/Singapore/USA for a few CDN providers that host here, but Spark can't be bothered to peer with.

Would recommend them for stability and pricing but not much else these days.
