IMHO we are almost now in a 100% VOIP world and LICAs should not exist anymore - all New Zealand numbers should be 100% portable anywhere in the country

 

It costs no more for an RSP to route a call from your place to your neighbour than it does to route a call to invergargil as the same call goes through the same soft switch

 

 


You forget the few neaxs that still don't support this.

 

That's why i said almost 100% - Only 400000 NEAX lines left from the July press release

 

So..... Hurry up and scrap the rest of the NEAXs  Oh wait........ not your problem anymore 😝

True but back then Toll Calls did cost more, A call may have had to be switched between 3 or 4 NEAXs to get from point A to point B

Once the last of the NEAXs are scrapped and we are 100% on VOIP Kiwishare should be reviewed to give all of us free national calling
