It's Not any kind of issue with the phone which is doing the forwarding. NO phone on Any Network can forward to My Skinny number.

And skinny can't tell me why.

Of course Skinny can't tell you why they are only the B party network in this case

Investigation starts on the A party network

The forward from A network to B network is basically the same as the A network calling the B network number

@JetA1, @Linux knows this stuff better than most, if he says that fault finding needs to start at Vodafone's end, I'd do exactly that. Also, please stop SHOUTING at us.

Well we have already had Voda business techs tell us there is no issue on their end.

The problem exists with any phone on Any Network which tried to forward to me. This suggested that the issue is with skinny .  Yet they say they don't support forwarding so they can't or won't help. Yet a workmate also on skinny gets the calls.

I was hoping someone might be able to tell me how it is that Skinny network settings to have picked on  my number and prevented it from receiving forwarded calls. Does the recipient network somehow identify such calls as different from "ordinary' calls?

There is no setting on mobile networks or handsets to block ' forwarded ' calls

Sure settings can be in place to block incoming roaming calls or block calls altogether

Skinny suggested that maybe their system had noticed I was getting forwarded calls and had somehow blocked it. But they said there was no way to check this, or at least they had no knowledge of how. They were pretty useless about it really.

Can you DM me your number, and skinny number that works with your forwarding Setup. If possible the Vodafone forwarding number as well. I will see what I can do from our end.

You also mention that any network can’t forward to your number - again an example of this would be good. Time stamps of failed and successful attempts would be useful.

My comments and remarks are not necessarily of my employer.

Can you make a regular call from that Vodafone number/phone to your Skinny number? If that doesnt work is there any message announced on the Vodafone phone?

If you can't laugh at yourself then you probably shouldn't laugh at others.

The system does not have this option that is why they have no knowledge of it

I suggest you stop calling people useless

There are no error messages on any phone from any network when a forwarded call to my skinny phone calls, (they all fail).  Simply the beep beep beep sound at the point the call forwards.

Any call direct to my phone works perfectly.

You don't say if you have tried calling your Skinny number from the specific Vodafone number you also use. To solve this, you need to document some specific calls when this fails, and when it works, and forward them as requested.

For each call, you will need to note the originating caller's number, the VF number they call, and the Skinny number it forwards to, as well as the time the call or attempt was made.

Just to reiterate:

Any call direct to my phone works perfectly.

And to add to that - from any phone.

Forwarded calls do not work.  They used to.  My phone itself is not the issue it's the number.  The sim card when switched to other phones has the same issue - forwarded calls don't work.  All other calls to and from the phone work.

For 4 years this system worked perfectly.  Then one day it stopped working - for me.

I can't note all the failed calls.  This is a business phone system and there are multiple calls. Every call that is made to it which is forwared to me, (after the fail date), fails to go through.

Again, any call made directly to or from my number works perfectly.

A workmate is also on Skinny network.  All forwarded calls still work for him.

I've tried forwarding calls to my phone through other  phones on spark network also.  They did not get through.

So it's not a Voda issue, it's not an issue with my phone itself.  It's not a failed sim card.  It has to be an issue with Skinny but they can't or wont help.  They say because they don't support call forwarding they can't answer any questions on this issue at all.  Even though they are a division of Spark.
