Hmmm - have been seeing this issue as well. Ringing now to see if I can get a network reset too

Have since learnt that network resets are temporary fix. Gajan is looking into it

Have noticed this issue as I’ve been travelling around the South Island.
4G works fine, but 3G doesn’t work at all even with full signal.

I’m on IPhone 12 Pro

Yeah. This definitely seems to be an iPhone 12 issue. FWIW I saw on iOS 15 beta too.

Haven’t had it happen since network refresh but not sure I’ve hit a 3G only location yet

Putting my 2c in on this also. I’m on an iPhone 8 Plus so not a new device and I’m not sure this is “new” for me. This was more of an issue when calls used to fall back to 3G, once on a call it was almost impossible to look something up etc. No longer an issue due to VoLTE, main reason I turned this on straight away.
Had this issue this weekend just gone by, was in Lincoln and was in an area of poor 4g but almost full 3G. Was getting the no data error or waiting a literal minute for a page to load or timing out.

We’re reverting a change made ~ 2 weeks ago that maybe causing this issue for a some devices when going into 3G only areas. This should be done tomorrow night pending our change process. Feel free to let me know (or DM me details) if your still having issues after this.

Still having intermittent issues despite having Spark reset network settings.
Lets hope the change that @gajan mentions above tonight works.

No improvements overnight. Still nil data on 3G. Becoming quite frustrating.
Is it isolated to just Spark or is the issue an iPhone 12 problem on all networks?

Update - the team were unable to revert the changes last night, at this stage I don't have a revised ETA at this stage, will come back when I do. As others have noted - sometimes resetting things fixes it temporarily. Hopefully though we're seeing few and fewer of those 3G only areas now.

Cheers

Hi Gajan,

Thats a shame - is there still however an active plan to provide a fix - hopefully not just waiting for better 4G fill in :-)

Threw a vodafone sim in and tested 3G only on voda. Same ordeal. No internet connectivity on 3G. 4G no probs. Apple issue perhaps?
