gajan: We’re reverting a change made ~ 2 weeks ago that maybe causing this issue for a some devices when going into 3G only areas. This should be done tomorrow night pending our change process. Feel free to let me know (or DM me details) if your still having issues after this.
Update - the team were unable to revert the changes last night, at this stage I don't have a revised ETA at this stage, will come back when I do. As others have noted - sometimes resetting things fixes it temporarily. Hopefully though we're seeing few and fewer of those 3G only areas now.

Thats a shame - is there still however an active plan to provide a fix - hopefully not just waiting for better 4G fill in :-)

Yes absolutely, will udpate as soon as we have a ETA for this.

nzpilot1181: Threw a vodafone sim in and tested 3G only on voda. Same ordeal. No internet connectivity on 3G. 4G no probs. Apple issue perhaps?
Another iPhone 12 user here on VF and have 0 issues with 3G around Christchurch and the Canterbury area.
Am running iOS 14.6 and Voda NZ 46 for carrier services version for what it's worth.
