Oblivian: Goodness knows why they put the security box there and not in the roofspace or hidden in a cupboard away from a power switch any burglar can flick off!

Would it matter, any switch would be downstream of the main switch.

Crims aren't smart. They don't tend to go for mains power. there's been at least 3 vidoes this month of them near here trying to remove cameras they've been caught on, not realising the nvr is elsewhere

Sure, there's backup battery options. But taking up space in a comms cabinet when the general spec is for antenna, star wiring and network gear.. someone's most likely cheated.

User's shouldn't be forced to put stuff on the ground. This isnt the first case I've seen that it's basically unusable for switch or router install.

if you decide to move the router from the garage, try pulling one of the faceplate covers off the network jacks in the location you want it, cablers will usually number under the faceplates for reference

you can then patch the cable from the ONT into the corresponding number on the black patch panel in the cabinet, then you can patch your router into the location in the house you want and it should work no probs
