I had the same problem, but with the older Huawai B315s. I think it's a problem with the cellphone tower as I had that issue one day but it suddenly resolved itself the next day.

I’ve started seeing terrible performance over 4G from my Spark Smart Modem 2’s.
Have ended up switching to One NZ and the TP-Link X58’s and performance is impressive.

Yeah, I don't know what's going on.  I got them to supply me with another modem.  It was alright for a shortish time then it started losing the cell signal every morning and i had to reboot it when that happened.  I switched it around to different places in the house on the possibility that it was getting interfered with by some neighbours hardware and it didn't seem to help.  Had gotten very very close to pulling the pin on it and going for Fibre despite the higher cost when I put the modem into a different room for the last time.  It has been perfect since.  TBH I have NO idea what's going on !  But I'll keep it for now.
