Thanks team, I have raised this up to our people internally at Chorus who can deal with it.

Interestingly the serial number shows that this ONT has an active service connected on it at the address wher eit used to be.... must be a wireless fibre connection now :)

You should ask a question asking them to please return it to that address and pay chorus to reconnect it ;)

The listing has already been removed from Trademe. Further investigation reveals that the house this ONT was installed in was demolished and another house (or houses) built in its place. That still doesn't explain why there is an active service on it, but I am following up with that RSP.

This is what happens when developers don't contact Chorus prior to redeveloping their property. The old records remain in place even when the physical equipment is long gone. At least we can now take steps to tidy this one up.

The views expressed by me are not necessarily those of my employer Chorus NZ Ltd

Thanks for the wrap-up, - its really nice to get proper insight into an insident & understand how it occurred.

Sorry to have created work for you,

But pleased it's resulted in updating records, as well as device recovery.

Dunno what happened to my FIL's ONT... advised his ISP he was moving and that the house was to be demolished.

Got a "thanks" and that was it.

Since tho, developer has decided to keep house as is for now and rent it (hahahaha the place is literally falling apart and holes in the floor etc). So if ONT still there or not, who knows :)

If it is then it could be used to fill in one of those holes in the floor :P
