coffeebaron: Yeah, I wonder if the AI woud recommend the Home Starter Fibre plan?

Do spark sell HFS?

Also, people need to not be fooled that 4G is faster than VDSL - there is no right answer to this as it all depends on Tower Capacity / distance to cabinet / etc.

Both can provide 120mbps but in any given location one will be better than the other and that will vary per address.

Something interesting, Spark is now offering Lite Fibre

'

Lite Fibre

Ideal for small to medium households with a few devices online.

  • 4K/HD video streaming

Once you reach 120GB of data usage in a billing period you can continue using data but at a reduced speed.'

Curious to what the reduced speed would be considering starting out at 50/10....

If 50/10 interests anyone..

zeronet has a deal via broadbandcompare for 50/10 unlimited data on a 12 month term, they also provide a free router if required. Disconnection fees apply if within term.

https://www.broadbandcompare.co.nz/plan/fibre-starter

$29.99/mo for 6 months then $59.99/mo for the last 6 months(then $69.99/mo iirc)

179.94 for first 6 months

359.94 for second 6 months

$49.99 for connection fee

$589.87 or $49.16/mo for the 12 months(then $69.99/mo or move)

Sucks to have a data cap via Spark but the plan is open term, a 12 month term signup gets a sales incentive(~$75) which allows other providers to offer more favourable options.
