fieldway: HTC Fortress or Warhawk

That's interesting... the specs for the Warhawk suggest that it's a Touch Pro2 with 850/1900/2100 WCDMA.  There may be hope for me (and patrickstarr) yet!

PDub: My bad Mauricio, sorry that was a "Why" to F900? :P

Omnia HD (i8910 HD) would be something different to see!

You guys will know by now that I am really keen for the HTC Touch Pro 2. At the moment it will be released unlocked on 12 June 2009 as 900/2100.

I've been keeping an eye on the progress of the TP2 and its release for the North American carriers. It will be released by Sprint on its CDMA network and Verizon and T-Mobile with their networks. The only 850 network in North America is AT&T so in a nutshell, if they get it, then we should be able to get an unlocked version online.

I emailed HTC a little while back when carriers weren't confirmed, i might email them again to see if/when an 850/1900/210 version will be released.

Edit: Okay, looks like while ive been at work and after reading some posts on this thread, and checking links online, AT&T will now get the TP2 as the Fortress! We're in biz! I'm guessing then that unlocked versions will be sold very shortly :-) The Touch Diamond 2 is being marketed as the Warhawk

telstra has got xperia. But its wifi sucks. So we won't worry about that device. But it seems to be quite popular worldwide. America has got US version in November 2008

I still can't find any 850mhz phones from trademe by now. Come on some retailers! Get them from hongkong and sell them on Trademe! I bet they will get lots of bidders

I was commenting specifically on getting an 850 version of the TP2. It would be easy to get a TP2 and use it on Black and White or Vodafone (900/2100), but i dont want it THAT bad :P I'm a Telecom customer, and other Carriers aren't an option. I'll patiently wait :-)

The Storm2 is coming to Verizon, so it's CDMA - we are looking for 850 MHz devices only please!
