Possibly, it would definitely be worth contacting the store - even to try another sim that they know works or to try your sim in another phone.

I have been doing some testing and have come to a conclusion that 3G MUST be on, to detect the XT network.

I just realised that my iPhone is not receiving any text messages at all, it is sending them ok but not getting any back. Anyone else having this issue?

Everything is working for me too with my NZ new, iPhone, not jailbroken, but cannot receive SMS although sending is fine.

I think this is the solution from the net, does anyone know the Telecom SMS message centre number?

Also, if you want to go back to Vodafone, their centre number is +64 21 600600.

Ask for your regions SMS center number and then use this code to set your iphone SMS center!

" **5005*7672*SMSCNUMBER# "

SMSCNUMBER would be the number you gotta ask!

***UPDATE*** freitasm has kindly posted the message centre number as +64277439010 on the XT FAQs - it didn't work for me!

I am checking this... That's the number I had on my handset automatically and it just worked. Getting the official word soon.

Are you receiving SMS on your iPhone over XT? Again, sending is no problem. just the receiving... Thanks for your help.

Hi was it a new connection or a existing 027 number transfered to XT?

Was told by Telecom shop sales people that there are delays in activating connections. As there are lots wanting them. I'm still waiting for a pre pay sim to activate (existing 027 pre pay number moved to it). Been about 4 hours.
