I have just been in and got a xt sim but my iphone is saying

Restricted Network

Your selected cellular network is restricted. You can choose a different network in settings?

What do I do?

Is this an iPhone 3G or the first generation iPhone? Prepaid or On Account?

Also, yes you need to manually add the APN info as per our sticky post (try internet.telecom.co.nz)

Why people don't give all the informartion information when asking for help???

Hmmm. It's a NZ bought iPhone - but from Vodafone or parallel importers?

My iPhone 3g worked straight away

3g Enabled

internet.telecom.co.nz as the APN

the APN is literally the only thing I had to change, oh and I restarted the phone after putting the SIM in

Have you tried hard resetting it? Ie. Hold down the power button for 5 seconds and it should shut off.
