You focus on Singapore (oh how I miss the Simpsons comic store guy sarcasm of geek forums) but in my article I relayed Mike Reynolds comments that mobile plans are half the price in Singapore, and IDC comments that mobile data plans are half the price in Australia. I've also provided a link to a second article on Australian pricing.

Seems I threw a cat amongst a few pigeons :-)

In a global sense Telecom is a tiny, tiny company.  Compared to Vodafone (worldwide) Telecom is a tiny company.  As for the NZ reference, regardless of it's owners, it's an NZ based company with very little reach or influence outside of NZ.

@kyanar - don't start Steve Biddle on fuel companies...

Back on topic.  Pricing seems to be a great disappointment all round.

It'll be interesting to see what sort of take-up figures (if any get released) for the XT network are available in about a months time and what type of users are involved with the take-up.  If they do get released, hopefully they'll distinguish between customers who jump from Vodafone as opposed to those who merely switch from Telecom's CDMA network.

Having done fair amount of work with statistics over the last few years and seeing first hand how they often get "fudged" for convenience, I have my doubts.
