jaidevp: An update to this, a network element was replaced last night. This should have cleared the Echo issue.

Stellar!! will advise if it has any more glitches..

Questions,

Is there any way of lowering the noise gate on the AMR voice transport codec at network level?

is voice AMR 12k fixed rate or AMR variable?

The difference between Telecom and Vodafone is like night and day! I've been really impressed by Telecom's technical expertise and willingness to not accept anything less than world class engineering.

Have you got the names right? Isn't it time to just skip to praising the contracted supplier?

Perhaps, but at the end of the day I have had numerous problems I have logged with my old mobile provider, Vodafone, and bar one, they are all still problems today.

I log a fault with Telecom's network, actually scratch that, I mention a fault in a informal non-Telecom discussion forum and it's fixed. It's a rather mind altering and refreshing experience.

As you say, perhaps Vodafone should hire whatever 3rd party contractors Telecom hire.

As you can probably tell, I'l still excited to be able to voice call from Parnell.

Tyler - Parnell Geek - iPhone 3G - Lenovo X301 - Kaseya - Great Western Steak House, these are some of my favourite things.
